The Daily Star’s TV expert and Traitors fan Ed Gleave is completely hooked on the latest series of the hotly-anticipated show and asks who needs Love Island when you have Claudia Winkleman
The Traitors is back with a bang.
It kicked off the fourth series with a killer episode packed with great moments. Producers have staged the biggest twist in show history by having a secret Traitor. Viewers have no idea who it is, so we’re all guessing just like the players on the show. It’s genius. It adds a whole new dimension to the format and will make the series even more entertaining. The speculation in offices and on sofas across the country will be rife.
There are also some fantastic contestants. Having a psychologist, retired detective and a ghost hunter at the round table is bound to be cracking TV.
If that wasn’t enough, there’s plenty of eye candy. It’s clear the producers went all out to get babes and hunks to give this series the se factor.
With some of these contestants, who needs Love Island: All Stars? Add to that the brilliant Claudia Winkleman, and you’re onto a winner.
Every series, she delivers. Her presenting style is perfect for this show. Unlike some celebs, she doesn’t take herself too seriously.
Hell, she even agreed to have a little singsong in the opening episode.
We’ve only had one episode and I’m already gripped.
I’ve got no idea what’ll happen next and that’s what makes it exciting. With this show, a big character could be gone by tomorrow night.
The nation is going to become obsessed with this series. It’s just what we need during dreary January. The celebrity version had plenty of fanfare when it aired in the autumn. And rightly so.
But any true fan of The Traitors knows the regular version is far superior to the star-studded spin-off.
There’s more game play, backstabbing and strategy.
The regular contestants don’t have showbiz careers they need to protect so they’re more likely to say what they think and fight for survival. They are also trying to win cash for themselves, rather than charities, so the stakes are a lot higher.
Anyone expecting this series to be less entertaining than the celeb one is in for a shock.
Brace yourselves for a thrill ride. It’s going to be TV gold.
When it gets to the final, the nation will be at fever pitch. I predict ratings will soar past 10million viewers.
