One star was forced to leave immediately in a huge shake up
A contestant from the BBC’s The Traitors was abruptly forced to leave after a gripping episode.
The fourth season of the popular game show made its comeback on New Year’s Day, with host Claudia Winkleman introducing her chosen Traitors for this year: Stephen, 32, Hugo, 51, and Rachel, 42.
However, this series had an unexpected twist – a Secret Traitor was also in the mix, their identity kept under wraps from both the contestants and the audience.
But the suspense came to a head in tonight’s (January 8) episode, which not only unmasked the red cloak Traitor but also saw one participant hastily exit the show, adding another layer of unpredictability to the programme.
An early round table discussion took place where the players voiced their suspicions, leading to the sudden departure of Faithful Ross Garshong.
During the intense conversation, Ross expressed his feeling of “being set up” in previous episodes, reports Wales Online.
He later elaborated on the Netty comments, saying: “When I noticed Netty I had not initially planned to mention it.”
Ross continued to argue that it was “suspicious” how others were “pushing” the idea he was a Traitor. This led to a dramatic moment when Rachel asked: “Was Hugo this dramatic in the turret?” To which Ross responded: “What turret?”.

After a tense vote, he was booted out of the castle with six votes branding him a Traitor, only to shockingly reveal he was actually a Faithful.
Ross found himself in hot water when his past ties with Netty were exposed, racking up the most votes and narrowly edging out Reece who had five suspicious players pointing fingers at him.
Viewers were quick to voice their opinions on X, with one saying: “This roundtable stressed ME out and I’m not even part of it.”
Another chimed in: “Ross getting voted out because of Nettie, I know he’s fuuuming with her.” A third exclaimed: “THIS IS AN OUTRAGE.”
One sympathised: “Poor Ross. They’ve had it in for him since day 1.” Another vented: “I’m so p****. JUSTICE for Ross. Shut this show down.”
In a twist, it was revealed that Ross and fellow Faithful Ellie Buckley are actually an item, with Ellie vowing to get revenge.
Wednesday’s episode dropped another bombshell as the Secret Traitor was unmasked – Welsh player Fiona Hughes, leaving both players and viewers gobsmacked.
With Hugo already ousted at the round table, the three remaining Traitors must keep up their game of deception to survive till the end and beat the Faithfuls, picking them off one by one.
The Traitors continues tomorrow on BBC One at 8pm
