She’s clearly moving on and looking forward to what comes her way
ITV Love Island’s Belle Hassan has hit back at her former flame’s comments after her name was announced for the upcoming All Stars series.
The 27 year old first graced our screens on the hit dating programme aged just 21 during its fifth run. That particular season also saw the likes of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury find romance, whilst Belle found herself partnered with muscle-bound Anton Danyluk.
The duo just fell short of securing a spot in the final five before calling time on their relationship once filming wrapped. Anton later appeared in the inaugural All Stars spin-off, where he managed fifth place.
It appears viewers could have witnessed a potential rekindling had casting bosses landed their initial picks that series. Speaking exclusively, Belle disclosed she’d previously been approached to return to the villa.
She revealed: ” I had a couple of interviews for the first All Stars and then I met someone so it was sort of, not the right time for me.”, reports OK!.
Whilst this denied fans a potentially explosive reunion, Belle explained her current readiness to dive back in.
“If the universe is giving it to me, why not? I’m not very good at picking my own boyfriends. So if we fast track the slow, long, annoying, process of dating. I’ve got to live with them. I love that. So that’s sort of why really.”
Following ITV’s announcement of the cast lineup, it wasn’t long before Belle’s former flame Anton broke his silence.
Taking to Instagram, he shared several images alongside his reaction to the news, declaring: “My ex is back. So what does that mean for me? The Love Island All Stars line-up was announced yesterday and I wasn’t surprised to see Belle there. I’ve spoken openly since my last show about never doing reality TV again.
“So naturally people have been asking ‘does this change anything?’ First of all – I want to wish Belle nothing but the best. She’s one of the kindest, most honest and loyal people you could meet and I know she’ll absolutely smash it.
“As for me. this changes absolutely nothing. I’ve come too far in the last two years, and going back would be a massive step backwards in my life. I’ve found true happiness. I’ve found my purpose again. Helping thousands of people improve their fitness, confidence and wellbeing means more to me than any TV show ever could.”
The remainder of his post was dedicated to plugging his latest business endeavour.
Whilst Belle remained oblivious to this statement before jetting off to the South African Villa, she somehow managed to deliver an indirect comeback.
When quizzed about how she’d react if Anton appeared on the show alongside her, she responded: “Do you know what I wouldn’t mind seeing Anton again. He’s all right. I think I’ve seen him a few times obviously since we split up but we’ve never sort of had that sort of tough conversation about things from when we were together. But, you know, it’d be nice to sort of have him when we can’t escape from me to have a chat with him about things.”
Nevertheless, she’s not eager to revisit past drama. She continued: “You know, we can’t run away from it but we’re not on bad terms. So like, you know, I’ve spoken to him here and there and I wouldn’t mind seeing him. I think if anything we’d have a nice friendship. I don’t think I’d go backwards, you know, an ex for a reason and all that but it would be nice to see him.”
Whilst Belle appears relaxed about her second Love Island stint, she’s made it crystal clear she won’t tolerate any messing about from potential suitors. Revealing her biggest turn-offs in a bloke, she confessed: “I hate a guy that thinks the whole world revolves around them. That’s not for me, white jeans, not for me.
“And also if a man wants me to chase, like I want him to be 100 for me and if he wants, I’m happy for a little light jog but a sprint, no chance of that I won’t be chasing.”
