Sick woman caught abusing dog and four-year-old child in horror footage

Date:

Shawna Mayfield, 28, pleaded guilty to rape and bestiality charges and faces 30 years to life in prison, with her husband also charged with child abuse offences

A woman has pleaded guilty to an horrific child sex abuse case after police uncovered disgusting footage at her home –s ome of which depicted scenes of bestiality.

In July, investigators were alerted by the Ohio Crimes Against Children Task Force regarding potential child molestation taking place at the residence of Shawna Mayfield, 28, and Justin Mayfield, 37.

Following a search of the premises, officers found that Mayfield possessed child sex abuse materials, which she had distributed, created, and replicated.

In what has been characterised as a “mountain of evidence” against the married pair, video material shows Mrs Mayfield sexually assaulting a four year old child, whilst both Mayfields compelled another child to participate in adult activities.

Text messages between the Mayfields revealed the duo bragging about exchanging videos of child abuse, whilst further footage depicted Mrs Mayfield performing a sexual act on the family dog, an incident which reportedly took place in May of 2025, according to an indictment viewed by WFMJ, reports the Mirror.

WKBN reports that Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman stated: “Additionally, the state found videos of the defendant performing sex acts with an animal, specifically a dog, and again, while executing the search warrant in the final count, this defendant and her co-defendant had a marijuana grow on the premises that exceeded the statutory limits.”

On January 7, Mrs Mayfield, who was charged with five counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, eight counts of rape, one count of sexual conduct with an animal, and endangering children, changed her plea to guilty. As part of this plea deal, Mrs Mayfield, from Warren, Ohio, agreed to assist authorities and testify against her husband in return for a jointly recommended prison sentence of 30 years to life.

Her sentencing will take place at a later date.

According to the Tribune Chronicle, Mrs Mayfield, who has no prior criminal record, provided a “proffer on the record” about what she will testify. If she fails to cooperate, this plea agreement will be nullified, and she could be convicted on all charges, including those set to be dismissed as part of the deal.

Her rape convictions indicate that she engaged in this criminal activity from June 2023 through August 2025. The penalty for each count of rape she pleaded guilty to is 10 years to life in prison, while the sexual conduct with an animal is a second-degree misdemeanour, punishable by up to 90 days in jail.

Mr Mayfield faces multiple counts of rape, one count each of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, and four counts of endangering children. Prosecutors have offered him a sentence of 50 years to life in prison in exchange for a plea deal, but his lawyer has countered this offer.

Attorney Brendan Keating remarked: “It’s more commensurate with what the co-defendant wife is getting, who, I might add, has been charged with more crimes in the indictment. It’s more time, but it’s less than the 50-to-life, so we’d ask that the state consider that.”

Mr Mayfield is due back in court on Monday, January 12, with his trial set to commence later this month.
