Trump tells Greenland to sign deal or Russia will smash its ‘two dog sled’ defence

Hell-bent Donald Trump has warned Greenland to strike a deal with him before Russia or China gobbles it up instead.

The ruthless US leader mocked the frozen nation’s defence as “two dog sleds” and said only he can protect its population.

The war-mongering president also squared up to Nato nations, ordering them to stay out of the row and insisting they need America “more than we need them”.

Trump boasted he has no problem with tearing up the alliance, declaring on his social media platform Truth Social yesterday: “I’m the one who SAVED NATO!!!”

He said: “Greenland should make the deal because Greenland does not want to see Russia or China take over. Greenland, basically their defence is two dogsleds.

“In the meantime, you have Russian destroyers all over the place. If we don’t take Greenland, Russia or China will take Greenland, and I’m not gonna let that happen.

“I’d love to make a deal with them, it’s easier. But one way or the other, we’re gonna have Greenland.”

There is no evidence that China or Russia are considering a land grab. Denmark has also disputed the Orange Manbaby’s claims.

EU defence commissioner said Nato would implode if the US snatches Greenland by force. Andrius Kubilius warned there is an “obligation” of member states to defence “if another member state is facing military aggression”.

He also said the US could face “quite painful negative consequences”.

But Trump said: “If it affects NATO, it affects NATO. But they need us much more than we need them. I will tell you that right now.”

White House chiefs are considering buying Greenland instead of muscling in on the territory. They could offer cash directly to the 57,000 inhabitants to tempt them into turning their backs on Denmark.

Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander previously said the UK is becoming more active in the region to protect it from Russia.

Britain will jointly operate a fleet of Type 26 anti-submarine warfare frigates to “hunt down” Mad Vlad Putin’s vessels and “protect our critical infrastructure under the sea”.
