Brits can dodge WW3 conscription on these two grounds as war in Europe looms

Date:

EXCLUSIVE: The world is teetering on the edge of another global conflict some believe the best way to protect Britain is by massively increasing the size of the UK’s armed forces

The chaotic state of the world has led to calls to bolster Britain’s army by reintroducing conscription.

Russia leader Vladimir Putin’s bloody war in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump “kidnapping” the President of Venezuela, and China eyeing up Taiwan are just a few potential causes of another global conflict.

World renowned war expert Prof Anthony Glees believes strengthening Britain’s armed forces is the best way to deter attacks.

He told the Daily Star: “The best way of avoiding another war in the continent of Europe is to show Putin we mean business and we can best show him by rapidly expanding our armed forces.

“A few days ago on 27 December 2025 our Government announced its plan to boost our armed forces.

Currently we have more traffic enforcement officers (82.000) than soldiers (74,000) although out total armed strength is 136,000.

He added: “The new plan is not serious, I’m afraid, it is no more than a baby step in the right direction.”

Prof Glees warned Putin is likely to launch the next war in Europe after he gets a peace deal he can sell as a “win”.

He said: “If Putin gets what he can call a win in Ukraine, courtesy of crazy Donald, the next European war will be launched within a year or two.”

For Brits hoping to avoid mandatory enlistment in the armed forces, Prof Glees suggested two grounds.

He further explained: “Full conscription can be avoided on health grounds (we recall Trump avoided being drafted on the grounds of ‘spur’ in his heel which seems not to have affected him) or on grounds of conscience (that it is immoral to take up arms to defend our way of life).

“Many ‘conscientious objectors in the Second World War did ambulance service, some will have died, we don’t know how many; some Jehovah’s Witnesses, a brave set of folk it has to be said, were executed by the Germans for not fighting.”
