A married Coronation Street couple could be set to part ways and fans will be devastated

A Coronation Street couple could be headed for a heartbreaking split. Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Tim (Joe Duttine) are one of the soap’s beloved couples. The pair struck up a romance in 2013 and tied the knot in 2015 before getting remarried again in 2020.

However, their marriage has hit a rough patch recently, after Tim crossed paths with Trisha Pinkerton, (Anita Booth) late last year and it was revealed she had a relationship with Tim when he was 14, and she was 20.

Despite Sally insisting that Tim was groomed, he merely brushed it off as a harmless fling, causing friction with Sally.

And next week, Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed that more drama is to come for the Metcalfes. During Friday’s episode (January 23), a tearful Sally calls at No.6 with some post for Carla (Alison King).

There, Sally proceeds to pour out her marriage woes to Lisa (Vicky Myers) and an exasperated Carla surreptitiously calls Tim and orders him to come and fetch his wife.

What’s more, fans have also suggested that Tim and Sally could be headed for a split, as the soap revisits the grooming storyline in upcoming episodes. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person mused: “They’re going to split Tim and Sally up aren’t they?”

Someone else replied: “I’ve been thinking this for a while probably.” A third heartbroken fan chimed in: “Noooo they can’t not Sally and Tim!” Another fan declared: “Think so!”

Recently, Coronation Street’s producer Kate Brooks revealed that the soap will be revisiting Tim’s grooming storyline. She shared: “Up until this point, we’ve seen Tim being quite dismissive about what happened in the past and not fully realise the extent of what had happened.

“He didn’t feel tarnished by it. He was young. He felt like it was great and ‘every young lad’s dream’. We wanted to take Tim and the audience on a similar journey at the same time.”

She added: “Tim will become involved in the Will and Megan story. It’ll be quite an instrumental part of that story as well. Tim will see Will and how young and vulnerable he actually is – and how wrong the situation is.
