Love Island All Stars recoupling chaos after contestant’s shock admission

Date:

There were plenty of tears after someone’s brutally honest speech

The Love Island All Stars villa found itself split following a tense recoupling as one islander surprisingly declared they would ‘rather be single’.

Sunday’s episode (January 20) witnessed escalating drama on the ITV2 show as contestants learned of another recoupling ceremony. Whilst this marked just the second of the series, this time the lads held the power to pick.

Following Charlie’s trip to the Secret Garden with Jess, despite exploring things with Millie, newcomer Scott quickly challenged him over his behaviour. Scott confronted him: “Me and Mills were sat on the sun decks earlier and you walked straight past us with Jess [to go to the Secret Garden]. That’s the first time I’ve been shocked in here..”

When pressed about his surprise, Scott responded: “Maybe having your cake and eating it a little bit…” Insisting he’s now coupled up, Charlie maintained he’d been “respectful”.

However, Scott hit back: “No, but that thing earlier. I don’t think you needed to go to the Secret Garden with Jess…this whole Villa is about navigating grey areas.”, reports OK!.

Charlie fired back: “I’m a single guy in here bro, I’m gonna do what I wanna do.”

Despite the boys wielding most of the influence, fresh faces AJ and Samie were actually first to select their chosen partner. The moment arrived for the recoupling ceremony and the girls were told to gather around the firepit.

AJ stepped forward initially and predictably chose Shaq. Samie was next to pick and she opted for Ciaran. The lads then stepped forward to make their choices, with Scott sticking by Leanne.

Sean made his move towards Helena, whilst Konnor followed suit by selecting Whitney. Jack went with Belle, leaving Tommy to make the final call, where he confessed to having ‘reservations’, declaring he’d prefer to remain single rather than be someone’s second choice. Despite this, he still paired up with Jess.

The moment the recoupling wrapped up, the boys and girls separated to dissect the drama that had just unfolded. Jess broke down in tears following Tommy’s brutal honesty, with Helena attempting to console her.

The lads were divided over Tommy’s approach with Jess, as Shaq argued it was a matter for behind-closed-doors discussion. Yet Scott defended him, arguing that sticking to generic recoupling platitudes would be deceitful and leave him vulnerable to being ‘walked all over’ by Jess.

Viewers at home were equally torn over the explosive moment, with one taking to social media to declare: “Breaking up in your recouping speech is crazy work – he couldn’t have just said ‘since there’s no one else left’.”

Another chimed in: “It’s crazy how if that was one of the girls who got mugged off and spoke up for herself the girls would have been saying go girl.”

A third viewer weighed in: “Jess is purely crying and insulting him because of the rejection… She can’t handle it. These times she was kissing a whole other guy just before. Crazy!” One viewer commented: “Okay, so unpopular opinion but just definitely deserved that. She tried to little boy him in private and park him to the side. Jess is really upset because Charlie picked Millie after he just kissed her you can’t fool me love.”
