Boxing legend Anthony Joshua was left with serious injuries following the crash on the Lagos-Ibadan motorway on Monday — but now the two men killed in the accident have been named

The two men who were killed in a fatal car crash involving Anthony Joshua have been named. It comes as boxing icon Anthony remains seriously injured following the collision.

Police in Nigeria have now confirmed that Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami were killed in the serious incident on the Lagos-Ibadan motorway on Monday (December 29). It is believed that the car they were travelling in struck a stationary lorry at high speeds.

Since then, Anthony has been taken to hospital to be checked over by doctors on his condition. Eyewitnesses are now retelling the moment they saw people rush to get the victims out of the car to safety.

According to the Sun, the Lagos-Ibadan highway is an incredibly dangerous road, with notoriously poor conditions for those driving. The latest crash took place on Monday, when the horrific incident took place, killing two of the passengers inside the Lexus SUV.

Latif, better known as Latz, and Sina had been travelling together with boxing champ Joshua, just days after he had won a notorious match against Jake Paul in Miami. He had arrived into Nigeria on Sunday (December 28) for a week-long holiday when the car smashed into the truck.

Initial investigations have found that five men were in the car at the time of the crash, with Anthony sitting in the back of the vehicle. The remaining two occupants of the car have reportedly “escaped unhurt”.

In a heartwrenching statement, a spokesperson for Anthony and his team said: “It is with the deepest and most profound sadness that we confirm, following a road traffic accident in Lagos Nigeria earlier today, the death of Sina Ghami and Kevin ‘Lateef’ Ayodele. Both were close friends and integral members of Anthony’s team.

“We respectfully ask that space and privacy be given to the families at this time while they process this truly shocking and devastating news,” the statement added. Latif had been Anthony’s dedicated personal trainer, travelling as part of his entourage.

Latif himself had grown a small but dedicated fanbase as he shared fitness and lifestyle tips, under the moniker of Healthy Mindset. He was also a close friend with the boxing icon, with his first Instagram post in 2015 featuring the muscly titan.

Just hours before the tragic crash, Anthony had taken to his social media to show he was enjoying some relaxation with Latif. In a now-chilling video, the pair were seen laughing and enjoying a game of table tennis together.

Originally named Kevin Ayodele, he had shot into the world of fame through playing football for Aylesbury United, Chalfont Wasps and Northwood. However, he soon took a different turn after he converted to Islam, adopting the Islamic name of Latif and going by Latz.

Since then, eyewitnesses have since revealed the scale of the crash, and how people immediately rushed to help the victims of the crash. Speaking to the BBC, Musbau Pelumi Ajetunmobi said a slew of people raced to the scene to check on the victims and get them away from the scene.

We saw him and said, ‘He is our glory here in Nigeria’, and went to rescue him. He walked out by himself, greeted the crowd, thanked people, and shook hands,” he added.
