Inside Holly Ramsay’s three wedding dresses and her touching tribute to Tana

Date:

Holly Ramsay’s three wedding dresses have been pictured for the first time, including the touching moment she wore mum Tana’s 1996 gown to marry Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty at Bath Abbey

Holly Ramsay’s three breathtaking wedding gowns have at last been revealed – after Gordon Ramsay’s daughter went to considerable lengths to keep her dress hidden from the public eye on her special day.

The bride donned three different outfits throughout her wedding celebrations with Adam Peaty – though she has now confessed her parents would “love it” if she had stuck to just the one look – even choosing to don her cherished mum Tana’s wedding dress which she wore to marry Gordon Ramsay nearly 30 years ago.

Crowds assembled outside Bath Abbey on Saturday December 27 hoping to glimpse blushing bride Holly, 26, and her gorgeous bridal gown. Yet Holly chose to keep it under wraps as her father Gordon, 59, walked her down the aisle – surrounded by security personnel – as she entered the abbey to marry Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty.

Holly donned a floor-length satin cape to shield the dress from prying eyes, meaning admirers have had to wait to see what the gown looked like in all its splendour.

Nevertheless, bride Holly has now been photographed beaming beside her new husband Adam – who recently took the name Adam Peaty Ramsay – and her extended family on her wedding day, at last revealing her magnificent dress, in images published by British Vogue. The Elie Saab gown was an elaborate lace creation featuring an extensive train, full-length lace sleeves and an elevated neckline – a style Holly revealed was influenced by Kate Middleton and Grace Kelly, reports the Mirror.

She explained: “I knew I wanted to wear something very traditional and quite modest, with lace”.

Holly told British Vogue: “I’ve always loved Grace Kelly and Kate Middleton’s gowns: that beautiful high neckline, super feminine.”

Holly discovered the dress whilst browsing London’s bridal boutiques alongside her mum Tana and her youngest brother, Jesse, two.

She confessed she was “totally obsessed” with the gown the moment she glimpsed herself in the mirror.

Her bridal ensemble was finished with an elongated lace veil and designer heels by Amina Muaddi – which were a “Christmas present from Adam last year” plus a shell-shaped limited edition Chanel bag, which she had sourced online.

Nevertheless, this wasn’t the sole gown Holly donned on her wedding day.

The bride chose to wear her mum Tana’s wedding dress from her 1996 marriage to Gordon for her first dance.

She revealed: “I’ve always loved the idea of bringing in mum’s dress at some point.”

Tana’s gown featured silk fabric with an elegant V-neckline and pearl detailing throughout.

The dress fitted Holly ‘perfectly’ and “didn’t need altering”, she noted.

Remembering the moment she initially tried on the dress for her mum, Holly said Tana was “on the Peloton” and there were ‘happy tears’. Holly’s third and final gown was another stunning Elie Saab creation, described as “short and fun” for the evening festivities held at Kin House.

The final outfit featured a brief, strapless sequinned mini number adorned with feathery details across the skirt.

She rounded off her party ensemble with white satin slip-on shoes boasting a court toe and fluffy embellishments.

Despite the joy-filled celebrations, the couple’s special day wasn’t without controversy – stemming from Adam’s bitter row with his mother and various other relatives, resulting in their exclusion from the wedding.

The precise circumstances surrounding the dispute remain undisclosed, though reports suggest Holly and Adam were displeased with his mum Caroline’s outfit selection for the occasion.

Caroline was notably absent from Holly’s hen do, with Adam’s daughter Bethany being the sole representative from his family at the ceremony – where she served as one of Holly’s bridesmaids.

Just hours before the wedding, Caroline publicly expressed her heartbreak, claiming the couple had ‘cut out her heart’ with the devastating snub, which allegedly started when Caroline purchased a dress for the wedding that the bride and groom found unsuitable.
