Clair Norris has praised her fans for uplifting messages while opening up about tackling negativity, championing body positivity, and helping others embrace themselves
EastEnders actress Clair Norris has opened up about her dedication to body positivity and how she deals with negative comments online.
The star, 28, who played Bernadette Taylor on the BBC soap, has become a vocal advocate for self-confidence, encouraging fans to embrace their bodies no matter their size.
Talking about the response she’s received, Clair spoke exclusively to Daily Star in collaboration with casino.org: “Overall, the response has been really positive. It’s been so nice engaging with the people who follow me, and the messages have been really uplifting and supportive. I’ve seen people encouraging and uplifting each other, too, which has been amazing to witness.”
Her honesty and openness on social media has struck a chord with fans, who often share their own stories of body struggles and how Clair’s words inspire them to feel more comfortable in their own skin. She’s helped create a supportive community where followers lift each other up and celebrate diversity.
Clair admitted that not every comment has been positive but explained how she handles criticism. “Of course, there’s always the odd bit of negativity, but I just try to ignore that and focus on the positive, on what I’m trying to do, which is to champion plus-size people and help others embrace who they are,” she said.
The actress’ message comes as the conversation around inclusivity and representation in television grows. By sharing her experiences, Clair is not only raising awareness about body positivity but also challenging unrealistic beauty standards in the entertainment industry.
Since leaving the BBC soap last year, the former Bernie Taylor star continues to use her platform to showcase confidence and self-love, often posting pictures and messages that celebrate her natural self.
Talking about her life since making her big exit, she said: “It’s definitely been less hectic. I’ve had a lot more time and freedom to catch up with friends, sort out my house, and do a bit of decorating. That’s been the really nice part, just taking a moment for myself after spending so many years fully dedicated to the show.
“I think the hardest part has been not seeing everyone every day and not being part of that team anymore. You get so used to it… going in, catching up with everyone, knowing about their families, it really does start to feel like one big family. So that’s probably been the toughest bit. But I still try to keep in touch with everyone and support them from afar.”
