The Traitors delivered its most jaw-dropping moment yet and fans were left stunned.
The Traitors enthusiasts have been left absolutely stunned by an unprecedented twist, which witnessed Faithful Matt attempting to strike a bargain with Traitors Rachel and Stephen.
Tonight’s explosive episode reached its crescendo, with Traitor Fiona receiving her banishment following her chaotic antics and bitter falling-out with Rachel in a dramatic showdown.
Following a gruelling challenge and a tense roundtable discussion, creative director Matt was granted the chance to pose two questions to the remaining Traitors, concealed behind the castle’s confessional booth.
Putting his faith in their honesty, Matt’s initial inquiry concerned their planned victim for elimination.
Upon discovering Jessie was their target, he proceeded to present a proposal to the duo, oblivious to their true identities lurking before him, reports Wales Online.

He commenced: “Here’s what I want to happen, I’m taking a massive risk here, I want to know that there’s some trust.
“I suspect Claudia will offer you the opportunity to seduce the next time you meet, I want you to turn that down and I want you to murder Jessie.
“And then the next time you seduce, you can seduce me. So my question is, do we have a deal?”
He subsequently clarified: “I’m not a monster, I don’t want Jessie to die, but I came here to play the game, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
Whilst audiences must wait until Wednesday to discover whether Stephen and Rachel will accept Matt’s proposition, they’ve been left flabbergasted by his audacious strategy.
“Matt has actually played a blinder cos he was so under the radar that none of us had a clue who he was and then BAM,” one wrote.
Another said: “I did NOT expect that from Matt oh my god,” as someone else wrote: “Matt using his second question to ask the Traitors to kill Jessie and recruit him has me gagged. This show is so iconic!”
“Now Matt is television,” another wrote, as someone else said: “Omg Matt with an absolute power baller of a move!!!”
Another called his comment “an absolute genius move”, while someone else said it was “the move of the series”.
“This season has truly and honestly gagged me in the last 48 hours,” one fan added.
Ahead of the series airing, Matt shared his game plan, saying: “Anyone but me – that’s my simple plan, as long as it’s not me. I do not care whether they’re a Traitor or a Faithful, as long as it’s not me.
“I think The Traitors is a social game, and if you’ve got favour with people, or if someone has a warmer feeling towards me than someone else, then that’s the way that the vote will go.
“I think my biggest tactic is to always be part of the bigger group. No way am I getting off the train or getting in a coffin. I won’t do anything that separates me from the wider group because I think that leaves you in danger.
“You’re playing two games essentially – murder and banishment. If you’re too much of a threat, you get murdered and if you’re not popular enough, you get banished. It’s tricky to get that balance.”
The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer and returns on Wednesday at 8pm on BBC One.
