Love Island star Belle Hassan has opened up about her famous dad’s strict rules on kissing in the villa — and how he’s still her biggest supporter.

Speaking exclusively about advice from her Football Factory star father, Tamer Hassan, ahead of her second stint, ITV star Belle said: “He’s so supportive. He’s like, ‘Go have fun. Not too much fun, but fun.’ I love me and my dad are best friends, so I’m always open.”

She also shared the hilarious and awkward conversation about kissing on the show: “I said to him, ‘Dad, I have to do the kissing scenes, it’s part of the show — I’m trying to meet a husband.’

“He said, ‘I don’t know if I can watch,’ but I had to forget he was watching, or I’d die of shame.”

Belle admitted that while her dad can be intimidating, he’s really a soft touch. “Everyone thinks we’re hard on the outside, but we’re softies. Boys do get intimidated at first, but once they meet him, they’re fine,” she said.

On the villa’s notorious Heart Rate Challenge, Belle revealed it’s a firm favourite with her dad. “That was my dad’s favourite episode last time. He was so proud. The producers even told him, ‘You might want to skip tonight.’

He said, ‘I was so proud when you walked out. You’re so tall. That’s my girl.’ I think he wouldn’t mind the Heart Rate Challenge or my outfit,” she added.

Reflecting on her dad’s approach to the show, Belle said: “He’s like, be yourself. Whatever happens, happens. Don’t worry. I’m here when you’re home, start or end.”

On the subject of love triangles, Belle explained it all depends on the situation. “It depends at what point I’m in the triangle. When you go into Love Island, you kind of expect it, because people come in wanting to get to know you or your partner,” she said.

“If I’m at the top of the triangle with two men, I’m all for it. If it’s two girls, I don’t know, as I’d never want to hurt her feelings. It also depends how much I like him… and how sexy he is,” she laughed.
