The SAS: Who Dares Wins instructors have admitted some stars probably made a mistake in doing the show, and Jason Fox says former health secretary Matt Hancock hated getting stick
The SAS: Who Dares Wins instructors have shared the celebrities they were glad to give their TV marching orders.
A new group of stars including Love Island’s Dani Dyer and England rugby World Cup winner Ben Cohen are set to brave the Channel 4 reality show for the latest series in January.
But the ex-special forces soldiers who will put them through hell say some of the famous faces to sign up in the past picked the wrong show.
Chief instructor Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham said: “We have had a few of those cases where you think, ‘actually you probably should have gotten on the bus to go and do Bake Off’.”
His colleague Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox admitted he got annoyed with former health secretary Matt Hancock, inset – who took part in 2023 – so gave him a nickname.
Foxy said: “I came up with ‘Mr Hancock with a silent Han’ which I am very proud of. He had a meltdown about that. He wasn’t happy and I told him to shut up.”
Foxy also got wound up by model Katie Price, who quit the show in 2020 because she could not cope with the physical tasks due to breast surgery.
He added: “She had a lot of chat to the point where it does your t*** in!”.
But Foxy did like reality TV star Joey Essex, model Danielle Lloyd and Olympic rower James Cracknell. He said: “They had good chat.”
This year’s cast includes Dani Dyer and fellow Love Islander Gabby Allen, TikTok stars Jack Joseph and Cole Anderson-James, rugby player Ben Cohen, Gladiator Toby Olubi, and cricket star Graeme Swan.
The Australian team is comprised of Neighbours stars Ryan Moloney, Natalie Bassingthwaite, cricketer Brad Hodge, Olympic swimmers Emily Seebohm, and Mack Horton. Married at First Sight Australia star Jessika Power and Home & Away actor Axle Whitehead are also included.
Dyer said of her recruitment: “Filmed out in North Africa, this was honestly one of the toughest things I’ve ever done in my life. Mentally, physically, everything.
“We’re not giving away too much just yet, but the new series will be coming to Channel 4 in January 2026 and I can’t wait for you all to see it. The line-up this year is amazing and I feel so lucky to be part of it.”
The brand new series of Celebrity SAS will air on January 4.
