Coronation Street’s Megan has been grooming 15-year-old Will for months- but how old is the actress who plays her?

Coronation Street’s fresh face, Beth Nixon, is embroiled in a distressing grooming storyline, but what is the actress’s real age?

Beth made her first appearance on the iconic ITV soap this year, portraying the athletics coach of young Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).

Ben relocated from Hull to Weatherfield with his father Ben (Aaron McCusker), grandmother Maggie (Pauline McLynn) and his dad’s girlfriend, Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley).

However, it was later unveiled that Megan has been grooming 15 year old Will for months before their move. Their clandestine relationship has remained undetected, leaving Will’s family oblivious to Megan’s true intentions.

In recent episodes, Megan has also moved to the cobbles and secured a job at Weatherfield High School. She has kindled a romance with fellow teacher Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), much to Will’s dismay and jealousy, reports the Mirror.

After Will celebrated his 16th birthday last week, Megan slept with him and narrowly avoided being discovered by Ben and Will’s brother Ollie (Raphael Akuwudik). She also spent Christmas with Will and his family at the Rovers.

As for Beth, the actress, Coronation Street marks her television debut, four years post-college graduation. The newcomer turned 25 in July this year, commemorating the occasion with an Instagram post.

Meanwhile, newcomer Beth, who portrays Megan, previously shared with Metro: “Megan is very calculated. Everything she does is for a reason, but she’s very good at hiding that. She’s very insecure, but again, she hides it. So she’s very confident and charismatic on the outside; she charms people, she makes people feel sorry for her, she makes people like her.

“She’s worming her way into this family; she’s almost like a parasite. But as an actor, I obviously need to find that humanity in her and make her a rounded character. She’s not a one-dimensional character. She’s not just this evil person.”

Beth went on to say: “She has all these other things going on-all these life experiences she’s had, which have led her up to this point. The audience doesn’t know, the other characters don’t know, but she knows. So, there are all these things I’ve decided in my preparation.”
