Donald Trump has been mocked online for appearing to mix up Iceland and Greenland four times during his lengthy special address at the World Economic Forum in Davos
Donald Trump has been mocked online after appearing to confuse Iceland and Greenland, reportedly four times by viewers on X, in his special address at the World Economic Forum.
The US President made the error when he claimed NATO loved him until he “told them about Iceland”. It is believed he meant to tell world leaders until his plans for Greenland came to light.
He said: “I’m helping NATO, and until the last few days, when I told them about Iceland, they loved me.”
Users on X were quick to pick up on the US President’s error with some jokingly suggesting Iceland may be terrified or relieved as Trump later confirmed he would not use force to take the correct location, Greenland.
One user said: “Iceland are relieved that Trump said he won’t take them by force!”
A second said: “Did he also just say that the people of Iceland call him Daddy, Daddy? Why is he even allowed on the stage.”
A third added: “Trump in a rambling speech at Davos, says he won’t use force to take Greenland, which he mistakenly called Iceland 4 times.”
