Kelvin and Liz Fletcher returned to screens on Sunday with their Fletchers’ Family Farm at Christmas special, which saw them jet off to Austria for the festive period
ITV personality Liz Fletcher has shed light on her husband Kelvin’s perfect woman, admitting she doesn’t match the description.
The famous duo, who share children Marnie, Milo, Maximus and Mateusz, graced television screens once again on Sunday (December 28) with their Fletchers’ Family Farm at Christmas special.
Whilst they’re recognised for operating a farm in the Peak District, the family chose to travel to Tyrol, Austria for the holiday season to experience alpine farming life.
They stayed with the Achrainer family, who boast extensive experience in the farming industry. During the programme, Liz joined the family’s matriarch, Martina, for a baking masterclass.
The duo made Bauernkrapfen, also called Farmer’s doughnuts, utilising fresh produce from their farm, reports Cheshire Live.
Liz was completely amazed by Martina’s expertise. “She doesn’t measure anything, she just knows. She just feels, she just has a feeling,” she remarked whilst they worked.
Martina then disclosed that farmers’ wives in the area sell these doughnuts, explaining that they produce approximately 500 pastries altogether.
The culinary experience led Liz to admit: “I’m good at eating, not great at cooking. I do my best, I burnt the kettle once.”
The actress later reflected on her time with Martina, sharing with viewers: “That was so fascinating and it’s so good to see that they have this real farmer’s wife tradition. And they keep this tradition and they cook to celebrate.”
She followed up with a tongue-in-cheek confession, admitting: “Actually that’s probably Kelvin’s dream woman, a farmer’s wife. But he got me and I can’t cook.”
The pair have been acquainted since childhood, first meeting when they were around eight years old. Nevertheless, romance didn’t blossom until they reconnected as grown-ups in 2009.
They tied the knot in 2015 and have since become parents to four children. In 2021, they abandoned urban living for rural life, embracing a fresh farming adventure.
Looking back on their time at the farm, Kelvin remarked: “What a year it’s been. As we’ve reached our fourth year in farming, we’ve fallen for this way of life hook, line and sinker.”
The Emmerdale actor continued: “But farming can be a bumpy ride and this year we’ve had some big challenges.”
This year has proved particularly tough for the family-of-six after a catastrophic blaze ravaged their farmhouse.
Fletchers’ Family Farm at Christmas is available to stream on ITVX.
