Dancer Nadiya Bychkova – who has been a pro on the BBC’s Strictly since 2017 – has added another string to her bow
Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova has been showered with support from fans after making her onscreen acting debut in a new film.
The star, who has been part of the professional dancer line-up on the BBC ballroom show since 2017, features in the film 10 Dance. The movie follows two rival dancers whose journey on the dancefloor leads to an unexpected connection. The film, which stars Japanese actor Keita Machida, is now available for viewing on Netflix.
10 Dance was released over the festive period and Nadiya took to Instagram to express her excitement about it, reports Wales Online.
“This film is about rivalry, romance, and the quiet magic that happens when two people truly connect on the dancefloor,” she penned, sharing several photos from the film.
“Working with the most incredible Japanese cast and crew made this experience unforgettable. It was such a joy to work alongside @keita_machida_official and @takeuchi_ryoma watching them bring these characters to life was inspiring every single day. And being guided by director @keishi_otomo was something truly special; his vision, calm, and storytelling stayed with me long after we wrapped.”
Nadiya, who was partnered with former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw for this year’s series of Strictly, continued: “I learned so much, felt so challenged, and fell a little bit in love with acting along the way. I can’t wait for you to watch it and step into this world with us.”
The film has been a hit with fans, who have taken to social media in droves to praise the dancer’s “amazing” performance.
One Instagram user described Nadiya as “breathtaking” in the movie, while another enthused: “Just finished watching. It was so good.”
“That was such a beautiful and captivating performance,” gushed another fan.
One viewer was particularly moved by Nadiya’s dance, saying they were “overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and splendour of the performance”. They continued: “It was a moment that left me wanting to watch it for more. Thank you very much.”
Another impressed fan commented: “Your appearance in the movie is definitely a highlight, elevating it to the next level.”
Among those joining the chorus of praise was Nadiya’s fellow Strictly pro Katya Jones, who expressed her admiration with a flurry of red heart emojis in the comments section.
