Ghost hunter signs up for The Traitors after rumours castle is haunted by wolves

Date:

The new series of The Traitors will feature a ghostbuster – builder Adam signed up for the show so he could hunt spirits in the show’s mysterious Highland castle

A ghostbuster is set to star on The Traitors. Essex lad Adam Waughman will be one of the contestants competing on the new series of the hit reality show.

The 22-year-old signed up so he could track down sprits in the TV castle. There is speculation the site in the Scottish Highlands is haunted by the ghosts of wolves. Adam said: “I’m an enthusiastic ghost hunter as well, so I’d love to get into that castle and see if it’s haunted.”

If he senses any spirits, it’s likely he will tell all. He added: “I’m a very outspoken, dramatic sort of person. I speak my mind completely. There’s no filter there.” Adam goes on regular ghost hunts with pals.

The group, known as Paranormal Essex, visit sites that are said to be plagued by spirits. Footage from the hunts has been posted on social media and become a big hit.

They also host seances, which are live streamed online. Adam started investigating the paranormal after losing his dad.

He said: “I wanted to prove to myself that my dad is still out there somewhere and that I’m going to meet him there again another day, because he was so young and we were best mates.

“That and the fact that I love old buildings. I love the smell of them.”

Adam is among 22 players who will be battling it out The Traitors.

The line-up also includes a barrister, a poker-playing gardener, a cyber security consultant, a civil servant, a builder and a personal trainer.

They’ll be competing to win up to £120,000.

Adam wants to nab the cash so he can treat loved ones.

He said: “I’d take all my family to Florida. I’m doing it for my wife and my three kids. Enough money to have a holiday of a lifetime, and then I’d put the rest in the bank so we could live comfortably.”

Adam is convinced he can spot a liar.

He added: “I grew up in the early 2000s and my childhood was being out on the street, playing with my mates and going over the park and meeting loads of people when I was young.

“I used to be able to read them before they even spoke to me, so I knew what sort of person they were. I’d say I’m a good judge of character.”

Seven million viewers are expected to tune in for the series launch when it airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
