A former Strictly Come Dancing star has made an exciting career announcement

A former Strictly Come Dancing star has issued a warning as she landed an exciting new ITV role.

Dragons’ Den personality Sara Davies, who graced the Strictly dance floor back in 2021, turned to Instagram to reveal a new career development. The 41-year-old businesswoman will front a brand-new quiz programme on ITV.

Sharing a trailer for the programme, Time Is Money, Sara penned: “So guys, I’m going to be kicking off the new year in style with something completely different for me… and something that’s taken me WAY out of my comfort zone (but that I’ve absolutely LOVED!).

“My BRAND NEW ITV quiz show, Time Is Money, is nearly here! ! We’ve got a special episode on New Year’s Day at 6pm, right between The Chase and Emmerdale (when I know you’ll be lazing on the sofa looking for something fun to watch on the telly! ). Then from next week onwards, it’s in its lovely new home for January at 3pm every weekday afternoon,” reports Wales Online.

The entrepreneur went on: “I’ll warn you now though, it’s unlike any other quiz you’ve watched on telly. It’s fast paced, high energy, and SO much fun!”

“If you’re popping out during the day, stick it on record, and I’m DYING to know what you all think (and also what you think of my newfound skills as a TV quiz master).”

Numerous Strictly stars and fans rushed to the comments to offer their support, with Oti Mabuse posting: “Let’s go @saradaviescc,” accompanied by applauding emojis.

Amy Dowden chimed in: “Can’t wait,” whilst Vicky Pattison gushed: “MAJOR BABES.”

Echoing the excitement, one fan wrote: “Looks great! You have great screen presence and will be amazing!” while another chimed in with: “Amazing news, good luck Sara!”

The “fastest quiz on TV” promises to be a thrilling ride as five contestants are handed thousands of pounds before they’ve even answered a single question. But in this game, time is money, and holding onto it is the real challenge.

As the clock ticks down, so does each contestant’s cash pile, coin by coin. Correct answers speed up their opponent’s timer, but get a question wrong and they’re docked £50. If their timer hits zero, they’re out of the game.

Each player faces a large hour-glass shaped money timer filled with thousands of pounds. It’s topped up at the start of each round, only to drain dramatically with every passing second.

In a previous statement, Sara expressed her delight at hosting Time Is Money, saying: “I’m absolutely delighted to be hosting Time Is Money. This show is unlike anything you have seen before – it’s full-on, it’s exhilarating and the pressure is real. It’s going to be a rollercoaster of excitement and tension, and I can’t wait to see who’ll keep their cool under pressure. Get ready for a make-or-break adventure, because time really is money.”

Time Is Money premieres tonight (January 1) at 6pm on ITV1 and ITVX, while Strictly Come Dancing is available to stream on BBC iPlayer
